Gulf Shores - Day 1 - Swim and Sand

The 3rd weekend in July, Mom and Dad, Trey and Amanda, and David, Hayes and I decided to fight the oil and all the bad reports and head to Gulf Shores.  Man, did CNN have it all wrong!  It was fantastic!!  The water and beaches were beautiful, and there was no crowd.  We didn't have to wait at in restaurant the whole time we were there.

This was Hayes' second trip to the beach, but last year he was just starting to walk and still a baby.  This year he loved it!  We all had so much fun just being together.  I think that Hayes could really get use to all of us living together.  Needless to say he got pretty spoiled with Nana, Papa, Uncle Trey, and AA being there 24/7.

Here are a few pics from our first full day...

Jumping in with AA there to catch him...

Building sand castles with AA

Time to bury Uncle Trey (what a good sport!)

Of course, David and AA had to give him some coconuts...

Hayes didn't quiet know what to think about Uncle Trey buried in the sand

But, then he decided to give him a hug anyway

Hayes wanted to be buried, but once AA dug the hole he wouldn't get in

Uncle Trey breaking free...

Thanks for being a good sport, Uncle Trey!!

Then it was time to check out the water...

The water was cold, and Hayes didn't really like it to touch him.  This is as far in as he got.
