We have had a busy and eventful few months at the Hogue house. We had a birthday bash for Hayes, Hayes' first hair cut, a beach trip with my parents, a trip to see all the Fairy Godmothers and Fairy Godcousins, several birthdays, a 10 year class reunion, and a whole bunch of sickness!! Other than the being sick part, the rest was a blast!

There are several new developments to bring you up to speed on since Hayes' last blog post.

There are several new developments to bring you up to speed on since Hayes' last blog post.
Hayes has not only started walking, he is now RUNNING! He is everywhere and into everything. He has 5 1/2 teeth now and 1 more about to pop in. I guess you are wondering how you have a half tooth so I will explain. Last night, we discovered he had one big piece of a molar in on the top. Since molars are so big and there is only one piece in, I am terming it a half tooth for now. Hayes was 31 inches tall and 24 lbs 1 oz at his 12 month appointment. I know he has gotten taller since then. We go back to see Dr. Blair in a couple of weeks so I can't wait to see how much he has grown.

Hayes is very curious and independent. He has to check everything out for himself. He also wants to do everything by himself. You can't feed him anything anymore. He has to do it himself. He even wants to give himself his own medicine. He is also very loving. He gives the best hugs and even some sporadic sloppy kisses. I had no idea I would love to be slimmed so much before he was born. He is officially bottle and passy free, too. He is getting to be such a big boy. It goes by so fast!!
He loves for us to sing "If you're happy and you know it" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". He knows the motions for both. He also loves taking thinks out and putting them back in. That sometimes includes putting his sippy cup in the garbage can, but we are trying to break him from that. He loves to help fold clothes. He will hand you one thing at a time from the dryer for you to fold. He also loves anything that resembles a ball. He throws everything he gets his hands on and mainly throws with his left hand. That makes his daddy very happy! The toys of choice for the past 3 days have been 2 little Hot Wheels we got in a Happy Meal. He carries them all over the house, rolls them down his track, throws them to me and David, and tries to feed them to Kirby.
We still haven't found anything that he doesn't like to eat. He loves all fruits and veggies especially bananas and lima beans. He also loves Sunny Delight (thanks Great!).
One thing that he doesn't like is a bubble bath which we found out after we had a tub full of Mr. Bubble. He started screaming. We had to grab him up and rinse him off immediately.
Hayes and I both had the swine flu during the month of September. It wasn't as bad on me as it was on him. Uncle Trey and Aunt Amanda came and took care of him one day while he was sick, and Nana was able to come stay with us all the next week to take care of Hayes. I don't know what we would have done without the 3 of them! We owe you all big time!!
Now that we are well, we are all getting ready for Halloween at our house. You know it is my favorite!!! Hayes has been in something Halloween 5 of the 7 days of October. I just can't help myself. Here are some of the pictures from yesterday morning. Great needed a picture of Hayes for a coloring contest so we went outside first thing to get some pictures in one of his Halloween outfits. He loves being outside. He even found a leaf that we had to bring inside and throw in the bathtub (another one of his favorite game...you have to be careful with that game because right after he tosses everything in he turns on the water!)
